Dr. Suzan Alawi is a highly experienced and sought-after General Practitioner with a career spanning over three decades and across three continents. She earned her medical degree in Iraq in the late 80s, then enhanced her expertise through many years of practice in Melbourne before enriching her experience in New Zealand, where she has been practicing for over 14 years.

Dr. Alawi holds a prestigious Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is passionate about paediatrics and women’s health and is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Her practice is characterized by meaningful, one-on-one patient interactions and a talent for addressing complex medical challenges.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Alawi enjoys traveling with her family and pottering with her grandchildren.

Born in the picturesque city of Auckland, Dr. Scarlett Pulham is of Māori and NZ European descent. She embarked on her medical journey with a Certificate in Health Sciences in 2013 and earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Distinction in General Practice from the University of Auckland in 2019.

Dr. Pulham is currently advancing through her second year of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners’ training programme, while also pursuing a Diploma of Cosmetic Medicine with the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine. Her dedication to medicine and surgery is matched by her enthusiasm for dermatology, aesthetic medicine, and the health of women and children.

Recently, Dr. Pulham and her fiancé made a charming move to Coatesville. Outside the clinic, she’s all about family, friends, and farm life—whether it’s whipping up a culinary creation, tending to her dogs, chickens, and sheep, or just enjoying the beauty of her farm.

Dr. Michael Uren-Phillips is a GP registrar currently working at Stanmore Bay Medical Centre. Born in New Plymouth, Taranaki, he completed his medical degree at Auckland University in 2019. His clinical experience spans Middlemore, Auckland, and Starship Hospitals, gaining experience across a comprehensive variety of medical (non-surgical) specialties and paediatrics. Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Uren-Phillips studied physiotherapy and practiced in that field while in medical school, giving him a robust understanding of musculoskeletal issues and injuries.

Dr. Uren-Phillips has a keen interest in mental health, with a focus on ADHD, a condition he personally manages, providing him with an empathetic and insightful approach to patient care. He emphasizes antibiotic stewardship, holistic care, and prioritizes patient education to enhance resilience and overall well-being.

He is currently working Fridays and looks forward to meeting you 🙂

Meet Emily, a dedicated nurse from Stanmore Bay, New Zealand. With Bachelor degrees in Nursing and Health Sciences from the University of Auckland, Emily has been delivering compassionate care since graduating in 2012. With a decade of experience in the Emergency Department and subsequent roles in Telehealth and general practice, she is committed to providing kind and equitable care to our community. On her days not working in the clinic, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and their three kids, baking delicious treats, and exploring the local beaches.

Emily currently works Thursdays and Fridays.

Meet Nurse Megan! Originally from Auckland, she received her nursing degree from Avondale University in Sydney in 2018. Megan is very passionate about children’s health, wound care, and mental health. When she’s not working, she loves hanging out with her son at playgrounds, the zoo, and spending time with family. She also enjoys catching up with friends and binge-watching TV shows. Megan’s passion for her work and family makes her a standout nurse and a great person all around.

Megan works Mondays to Wednesdays.
